Root factory reset after root

ssandler

Newbie
I have rooted my inc. Great work and seemed easy with all the guides!

My only question is i want to perform a factory reset, how do I get the superuser.apk back and/or will I lose root?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!!!!

I did a factory reset after I performed a root and deleted some of the stock apps just for good measure. You do not lose root. Cheers

When you delete friendstream does it mess up facebook sync or photo sync with your phonebook? Just curious.

I can only speak for me, but I suspect removing FriendStream has caused sync freezes on my phone. I won't know until I put it back, so we'll see.

Other sources have said that after removing FriendStream you should disable Live Sync in the Facebook options (I don't even have Live Sync as an option anymore for some reason). Contacts pictures still update without any problems.

FriendStream works with Facebook for HTC so yes, there will be some issues when the option for syncing the "Live Feed" in your "Accounts & Sync -> Facebook" section is enabled. This is one of the issues that I had when removing FriendStream.

Whats the process for reinstalling friendstream? i tried to install it through app manager but no dice

You have to go through the entire root process again so you're in adb shell in recovery. Then install with the cat command the same way you installed superuser.
