Factory Reset Droid 3/MP3 player

I changed my Droid 3 to a Motorola Razr. I want to use the Droid 3 just as a music player but I factory reset it now it wants me to go through the set up. Is it too late to use as just a music player?

ok, When I turn on this phone now it wants me to make a test call to activate the phone. I don't want to activate the phone but will I have to which will "replace" my droid razr and then re acttivate my droid razr and don't factory reset the droid 3 so I can use it as a music player?

If it was me .. I'd go to a Verizon store and ask them to set it up so you could use it deactivated.

My experience with a deactivated Bionic is that I can do anything with it except voice or direct d data. I still have WiFi and everything else. It still has the SIM card installed that I used when it was activated

I don't own a Droid 3.

No, it's not too late at all. After a factory reset, at the first screen that you see (I believe that it's asking you to touch the Android to begin), touch the four corners of the display in this order: top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left. The top touches would be just under the notification/status bar. Another way to describe it is that you are making the touches at all of the corners clockwise starting from the top left.

This will skip activation and setup and bring you right to a home screen. From here you can set up WiFi and then open the Play Store (it probably still says Market); this will prompt you to set up a google account, and from here you should be good to go.

Well, you could also go into settings->accounts and set up a Google account from there.

lol that's what I did, my son sent me a link to droid life where it said to try that and it worked SWEET!
