Root Factory reset on rooted desire

I'm selling my desire so last night I done a factory reset so it was wiped clean for the new buyer, it's messed up and the phone is stuck in a constant reboot loop, I don't have the memory card I used when rooting the phone and sold the laptop which had my back up etc on it! Can anyone help before I commit a bit of insurance fraud?

You can use a USB card reader or maybe have a friend with a HTC. First of all have you tried getting into HBoot and wiping?

Ok I wiped but it made no difference. I've downloaded a rom, I'll get it on the card some how, will I be able to load it onto the phone? Will that work?

I know how to get into hboot but how do i wipe?

When I said Hboot I meant recovery. If you cant get into recovery maybe you can flash another through Fastboot commander, but I would suggest finding a goldcard, there should be plenty of faq about making one with a card reader.

If you can get into recovery then simply wipe using the 2 wipe options on the main recovery screen and then reflash your Leedroid. If you have the confidence at Recovery go to advanced and wipe the Dalvik as well.

When I hit recovery it brings up the picture of the phone with red ! Is this because there is no rom image on the mem card?
