Root Factory reset problem

Mmkii

Newbie
Today I decided to unroot my LG G3 S since it bad causing a lot of problems.. I had no custom rom, kernel or anything. After that I tried to do a factory reset. First I tried the settings method and then the hard reset but both times the phone stayed silent until I gave up and removed the battery. Nothing was deleted each time and nothing changed at all. Any info would be much helpful.

I'm just wondering, since you're rooted, could you just use a file explorer to delete the entire /data folder?
Would that work peeps?
EDIT missed the fact you had unrooted sorry

I will be going to the store and see if they can provide me with a replacement (I can't use Google apps) if I don't tell about the rooting.
I live in Finland and I already had my rooted galaxy trend plus fixed twice so I don't think they'll be going to dig deep into the phone.

I was just thinkin that if I install TWRP recovery and install cm 12.1 that I found could it help
(and would it be possible to factory reset with TWRP)
