Factory reset questions

I have my T999L that is rooted but stock rom. If I do flash a rom, I read that you do a factory reset before you flash. Will this wipe out the Internal files like pictures, sounds? I used to have a microsd card on my old Optimus T & is was always safe from such things. Just like a little clarification before I do anything. I still have everything backed up on my computer.

Hey. If you do the factory reset from CUSTOM recovery mode CWM, TWRP etc, it wont touch your stuff, it just wipes apps. Thats what your gona do before a flash. Do you have custom recovery?

Factory reset from the phones settings or stock recovery wipes everything

I have the latest CWM 6.0.4.3. Thanks for letting me know the difference between the two types of resets. I did not know that.

No problem. Cwm is designed for flashers so for example, it wont wipe your titanium or clockwork backups on the internal storage. Only what it has to
