Help Factory reset

I did a factory rest on my huawei ascend. I called the x228 to have it programed and now I can not access the market place and I can not add my gmail account. They forceclose. I also have no ringtone sounds at all. Please help.

Did you delete anything after rooting?

Why did you need to factory reset.
 
In case your wondering why we are asking wpayton, a factory reset won't repair a hosed system file issue. Only a factory rom flash or nandroid restore will do this.

It's really too bad that wpayton didn't give us a chance to help her unroot her phone before she tried to do a factory reset. I'm sure we could have helped her get her phone back to the way it was before she attempted rooting.

Rooting isn't for everyone. If someone doesn't really understand it they shouldn't attempt it.

Sorry she had a bad experience.
 
After I followed your directions on how to root the phone and then followed all the other directions on your list nothing on my phone would download. i even paid for cpu app and it took my money then wouldnt download. Plus all of my apps were messed up.

That does not make sense, rooting your phone isn't going to ruin it like that just from rooting.

I'm sorry to hear that. The only thing I can think of is that you missed a step somewhere.

I wish you had let us help you before you reset so we could have worked this through with you. I'm very sorry your phone is messed up.

Why don't you just take it back to the store and get a new one. I doubt they will even check to see if it has been rooted or not.

Yea just say you took it out of your purse, and now it's doing what it is doing, that's basically what I said except about the purse part, and they swapped it out for me.

Are you on Metro or Cricket? I'm assuming Metro. I think we may be abke to get you going again.
 
Foltz...do you mind if I ask you who "we" is that you keep referring to? Are you a developer or a company? And do you have a Huawei Ascend?

We are the androidforums community. I am an advanced (my opinion) end user who has had an android phone (G1) since day 1. It was rooted as soon as JesusFreke posted steps on how to do it. I have a Metro Ascend.

Never said expert. A FACTORY released restore rom shouldn't need perfecting. It restores your phone to like new condition.
