Help Factory reset

Thanks for the link. I'm trying to find the Metro Nandroid backups again so I can post a link. With the Amon-Ra recovery and the stock Nandroid backups, we (Metro users) should be able to recover from most screw ups.

Here is the link below to the Metro (and a Cricket) nandroid backup for people who have a custom recovery with nandroid. The total instructions aren't up yet but, my guess is you would:

1. Drop the files to your sd card in a folder structure somewhat matching nandroids structure. /nandroid/mem=211M/Stock/.

2. Boot into recovery (press and hold vol up and send then press power)

3. Go to Backup/Restore.

4. Select Nand restore

5. Select mem=211M

6. Select Stock(if thats what folder you named it).

7. Follow the instructions on the screen.

I haven't actually done the restore but, I did do the steps up to but not including the actual flashing. There was also a recovery image in the nandroid backup. I removed it on my card so I wouldn't overwrite my custom recovery. You can do whatever you want.

Cool, but a factory recovery rom for metro is going to release on the same site where the cricket one in very very soon.

Cool deal. "Almost" impossible to brick our phones now. Once custom SPL's and new radio bins start coming out then we will be in new territory.

Thats acrually the stock recovery partition image installer (non Amon-Ra or clockwork) . You need to download the other metro file

Nice, but how do we know which one is ours out of this list

metroPCSStock-linux.sh
metroPCSStock-mac.sh
metroPCSStock-windows.bat

Hey NY

I just checked that recovery thread over @ xda. The guy posted his instructions for both downloads. Apparently the first one does restore everything back to stock also. The three files you mentioned are batch files that do the restore when you put your phone in fastboot mode. You run whichever batch file matches you pc's OS. Thats awesome to have. Even if we totally screw up our phones and can't get to our custom recoveries, we can still boot into fastboot mode and restore everything.
