How and where do I back up my phone before a factory reset?

If youre not rooted, have a look at Carbon in Play Store mate

funky suggestion is best for apps + data for contacts sync to gmail for pics sync to dropbox and you could also make a backup via kies.

Remember to save on your computer anything on the internal memory, that's gonna be wiped for good, else, move them on your SD, if you have one. Beside that, do as the other said.
