Help Factory Resetting Unlocked Phone

Will doing a factory reset relock my phone? And how can I be totally sure that the phone is actually unlocked? I bought it off ebay.

I've seen other places that say that you cannot relock an unlocked phone. Is anyone else able to clarify whether or not factory resetting my phone will relock it?

Just in case anyone else needs to know, I called Lg and they told me that factory resetting will not remove a lock.
