Root Factory rom for the hydro?

Anyone know where I can get a factory rom for my Hydro?

I think some system files may have gotten corrupted so I want to do a hard reset and reflash the os. Hoping that will fix all the bugs.

heres the thing. we have no way to flash with the hydro, no cwm, no custom recovery. noda nothing zip. that is why everyone says to be careful with what you tweak because once phone is bricked, it is a perminate paperweight. sorry man. we cant even make a backup that we could possibly restore with cause there is no way to. not trying to be mean. just stating the truth. unless you found a way to flash even the stock rom, and if you did please enlighten the rest of us.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realise there was no way to flash. My phone is only 2 weeks old. I think I'm gonna back up all my apps and stuff to my thumb drive and take this back for a replacement. Its messing up too much. I'm paying $77 bucks a month for a constant headache.

I'm new to Android, actually I'm new to smart phones altogether. Just curious as to why there's no cwm, and no way to flash the Hydro. I don't really know how flashing is done period. Is it a hardware issue or is it just that nobody has cracked the code yet?

The bootloader is locked.

(In anticipation of this followup question)
What is a bootloader?

The bootloader is the first thing that starts up when a phone is turned on. At its most basic level, a bootloader is the low-level software on your phone that keeps you from breaking it. It is used to check and verify the software running on your phone before it loads. Think of it like a security guard scanning all the code to make sure everything is in order. If you were to try to load software onto the phone that was not properly signed by the device vendor, the bootloader would detect that and refuse to install it on the device.

When we speak about locked bootloaders, the context is often used to give meaning to the term

Ah, I get it now. But it is, theoretically at least, possible to crack the encryption right? I would imagine there are people working on this and someday we might be able to unlock the bootloader.

What I wouldn't give for a slide out keyboard.
you got a Hydro so you know how difficult it can be at times.

Sometimes I think us Hydro owners don't need a forum, we need a support group. Oh wait, maybe that's what this is. Lol:D

the hydro is a great phone, to make all your mistakes with.
Very cheap investment for the lessons you'll learn turning it to a paper weight

Nah, what should be a sticky is someone posting that everyone should dump this god forsaken phone that basically no one will get anywhere on because the bootloader more than likely will never get unlocked, IMHO this phone is a BIG waste of time for people that want to customize and modify it... Just my opinion though, my Boost Transform Ultra will be here on Monday so I'll be in that forum after that...

By the way AOKP is tits. I'm gonna start toying with that Samsung tomorrow.

If you can decrypt the bootloader sure
with out a diagnostic driver to actually see it though, you going to need a donor phone to physically dismantle and of course a suitable reader/writer

i dont think as of yet, anyone has been able to actually see it, to dump it, to try to decrypt it

well i got a history of bricking my hydro's and I wish people can share their experience on my post early this year... the good news just sent out a bricked hydro and it was under warrenty and lets see if it comes back..

Yeah and I won't b the one to decrypt it. I'm not geek enough to be able to pull that off.:D

ROM manager pro by clockwork mods. I've made a backup of my ROM this way. It's an app in the google play store. Run it on you're phone! NOT YOU'RE PC!!! Go to the option backup current ROM. Just because this worked for me does not mean it will work for you. I make no promises. This app also has an option to boot in recovery mode. Maybe someone can use this info to get working on a custom ROM using the stock ROM as basses to start from? & yes I'm on a hydro.
