factory root tablets, smaller design firms

While it is unlikely this forum would have a timely-, exhaustive list of all tablets it is surprising to not find some of the higher volume selling brands in the non mainstream subset.

In the ~10" bracket of tablets around 50% cost/performance of samsung could one find- or initiate a subforum on such devices- and their discovery in usa retail channels? Most are likely disinterested in direct to market manufacturer import sites which need not be listed along the lines of the arabian treasure cave with magic door.

Of particular interest in the shallower end of the performance pool for lower costs [non gpu intensive gaming] are those with 'root' from manufacturer, and a matrix of

• RAM
• built-in storage
• external storage SDcard revision support (ex: 3.0 or better)
• ease of USB storage manipulation

Because I detest "affiliate" URLs and similar scammy URL redirection layers I would not myself post amazon links for fear of interweb browser- or webserver manipulation. The typical "affiliate" (spammer) will financially benefit from a click even when the clicker receives no benefit

• topical,
• accurate,
• more injurious active third party web ads
  • all third party web ads are injurious per se
  • unethical to treat privacy as a commodity even assuming "informed" consent
• misdirect
• dead nested redirect layer
• crafted delays

I prefer amazon's ecosystem because it deters a flea market mentality. Using amazon related search results I have found a small stack of

• cheap tablets

This is not a needless distinction but one for which credible review[er]s are required.

"texting" can be had on every internets device but not as sms-texting like traps you to one phone. You'll want xmpp texting. It's an open standard. Once I did sms-texting. Then a bill, an unpleasant set of discussions. I resisted. Now I am thrilled with xmpp texting.
