I recently purchased an LG Optimus V running on Virgin Mobile's network in the U.S.A. Shortly thereafter I download the Quick Settings App from the Android Market with the intent of using it to enable tethering of my device. I've watched several videos of this being successfully implemented, however, when I try it I get the following error message: "Portable Hotspot. Network is unavailable". I've also noticed that after I toggle WiFi Hotspot to "ON", the 3G Mobile Data automatically toggles to "OFF". Is anyone familiar with this issue? Is this a carrier-related problem? Any suggestions?
