Help Failed to delete messages

My gf told me her messages were acting weird so she tried to delete them. When she tried it said delete failed and she sent me a pic, all the threads say multimedia message and the dates are all Dec 31, 1969. Can anyone tell me what is wrong here and/or how to fix this? Here is a pic of what I'm talking about

No idea how to fix it "correctly" but I use Handcent for messaging. It has a (Force Delete) option for those stubborn messages. It's free on Google Play if you wanna try it, even if all you use it for is to delete messages lol...
