When my stove was pretty darn new, the glass top broke. A factory repairman came out and said it broke because I had either used cast iron pots and pans on it or I had used a pot or skillet larger than the footprint of the burner. ( I had done both) He pointed out that it clearly voided the warranty but he would replace the top this time but don't do it again. My cast iron cookware and my larger than life pressure cooker have been stored since. Which was the culprit, I can't say. I highly suspect the pressure cooker. I miss using both though I now have a smaller pressure cooker which is perfect for the wife and I. My large family only consists of two now. What's wrong with a glasstop stove? Our cast iron cooks fine on it... and it's easy to clean.
