Fantastic battery life after update (UK)

I have a T-Mobile UK branded SGS3 and had really bad battery life. I use my phone excessively through the day, with WiFi and GPS turned on, I used the browser a lot too. I use my phone excessively everyday and was only getting about 4-5 hours until the battery died.

3 days ago I updated via Kies and the past 2 days I have gone 12 hours with excessive use and still have around 20-30% left, it's just brilliant. Best battery life on any smartphone I have ever owned :)
 
I updated this afternoon and I've had similar experiences; the battery life was okay before the update, but it's absolutely superb since I've updated. Only had this phone for a day but having switched from an iPhone I'm mighty impressed.
 
When I upgraded my contract, I was going to get a iPhone 4S because a friend let me borrow his to trial it and although it wasn't as good as Android, I thought I would fancy a change. But upon upgrading, the representative convinced me to get the SGS3, he was telling me how good it was and how I wouldn't regret it.

I'm so glad he convinced me :D
 
I have an unbranded version and also saw a big improvement in battery life after the update. Before the update it was pretty disappointing and immediately dropped to 99% after taking it off the charger but now i can be confident that it's gonna last through the day. Wifi is still a big drainer though but when turned off it lasts absolutely ages for music and gaming.
 
No update on 3 UK so far, hopefully won't be too long! Although I have to say the battery life on mine is good already, i'm getting at least 1 day of medium use and the other day had 3hr 30mins of screen time on and I was at 45% :)
 
Mine finally died after 10 hours use, off a 90% full battery. Used very heavily during the day. Colour me impressed.
 
Mine was originally on 3, Unlocked and on tmobile now. I did get an update way back when i 1st got it about a month ago, But no update today, Just checked for one and it says there isnt a new update, How do i do it via kies? Never used or heard of that before. Thanks.

Plug your phone in, go into Kies and go on your phone's page. The check for updates button is right in the middle. The update didn't show up as an OTA for me, don't know why (I'm on an unbranded phone)
 
after update my battery lasts 2 days with 5 hours of screen time.
When this happens i am down at 14%.
5 hours of screen time for me means a combination of music listening some wifi time some moderate number of calls and text messages...

in general my usage is low to moderate...
 
I had my phone for a day and thought the battery life was diabolical, I was so disappointed. I then decided to drain the battery and then fully recharge it followed by this update and today I have been delighted with the performance, I've been constantly doing stuff on it for 4-5 hours and still have 36% left at the moment, it's been on for about 8 hours altogether. Not bad for what I'd class as heavy use.
 
Thanks done it!! Can definitely see an improvement, After 7 hours at work my phone would be on about 65/70% left. Today I was home with 90% left still (Mild use, Light internet use, Messages ect). But I think there must have been an issue with how the battery level is shown, As i noticed before the drop from 100% to 89% could take 5 mins and then the battery would last ages from 80s - 50% I think thats been rectified rather than it actually making the battery life longer.
 
I'm findin the same since upgrading to XXLFB. After a full charge, I was out yesterday and took about 10 pictures, checked email throughout the day and after 7 hours, was only down to 91%. Before the upgrade, I wasn't getting this type of battery life.
