Help Fascinate Bluetooth quality issues?

crazyst

Hi,

I just got the Fascinate and find the bluetooth quality to be very poor. I have a plantronics headset and a garmin zumo that I use the bluetooth through which have both provided good quality BT with my last samsung phone.

Apparently I'm the only one with these issues so I'm hoping it's a settings issue or some sort of a tweak. I tried the codec tweak but no dice.

The voices are very raspy and hard to make out when using BT. I'm hoping someone might have a fix suggestion for this issue.

Try this..
make or pick up a call.. either unselect bluetooth or select speakerphone then click the bluetooth button again to send the call to bluetooth and your audio will get nice and clear. This is an issue with my phone and all bluetooth connections. when it initially connects its very muffled like its over amplified. Switiching between bluetooth and other call mode fixes it when you return to bluetooth. Also if you start the call without bluetooth and then switch to bluetooth the audio problem doesnt happen.

Hope that helps.

Hi Mad,

Thanks. I will try that solution. It's funny though that no one else seems to be complaining about this. Do you know of any other posts where this has come up as an issue?

I'm wondering if there are any tweaks that can be done with something in hidden menus to fix this. I would prefer not to root the phone but if it gets to that point I have no problem doing it to fix this issue.

Thanks again. I will try that out and report back what I find.

I use the moto h730 headset and have crystal clear reception with mine.I have always had good luck with Motorola's Bluetooth.

Thanks. I may have to try another headset but I dropped $150 on this Plantronics headset and it works great on everything else so I'm thinking this is some sort of phone issue. It would be nice if it was cleared up with a software fix. However I don't have a choice about the GPS and if it doesn't work with my GPS then it's just about useless to me.

So I'm hoping I can get an expert somewhere with some experience with this issue to figure out how to resolve it permanently for my setup.

I may buy the H730 just to see what happens to thanks for sharing.

Since I was in the store for another reason today the rep there suggested I DOA the phone and get another. The new phone seems to have no issues. Maybe it was a firmware issue but it was not my bluetooth devices.

Thanks,
Curt
