Fascinate for $50

Welcome, things are just starting to get fun and only getting better.
 
I pulled the trigger too early! I ordered 2 Fascinate for $50 each from wirefly.com over the weekend.

It is the first time I heard about wireflyfriends.com
 
for me, it's $100 because I'm using a line from family plan. (not primary)
but, still it got cheaper.. last time I checked it was $150.
 
How does this work for service? If there is something wrong with it, would I have to deal with wireflyfriends.com? If so, does anyone have experience in dealing with them?
 
I was able to access the website you said (wireflyfriends.com)
But, can't access there now.
Was it fake website or something?

Beware, people. I smell something bad.

Ummm... What universe do you live in? Of course they ask for your credit card information. Free or not, it's needed for two reasons:

1 - They have to verify your identity.

2 - Just because the phone is free for you, that doesn't mean Wirefly didn't pay for it. When you place an order, you accept the terms that they can charge you a LARGE fee if you don't activate service with verizon. It keeps a-holes from ordering 10 and then selling them on ebay.

Please stop with the paranoia. Wirefly is a legit company that's been selling phones for years.

But, Wirefly Friends and Family.. why is the price cheaper than Wirefly if it's same company branch?
Also, I tried to find a link to go to 'Wirefly Friends and Family' on 'Wirefly' website.
No link or menu you can access F&F on wirefly.

Isn't it weird you can't even find a link to their branch site?

Not weird at all. It's SUPPOSED to be for Simplexity employees, and their friends and family. You shouldn't even know about it unless an employee told you. Why would you want to go to the normal Wirefly site and pay more?

Why is it cheaper? The same reason I can get discounted product at work. It's a workplace incentive.

Why would they put any links for F&F anywhere on the normal Wirefly site? They don't want just any random yahoos finding it by accident.

I honestly don't blame you for being cautious. My order should be shipping today. When it shows up Monday or Tuesday, I'll update you here.

Do you have to put Simplexity employee's name when you order your phone or when you need customer service help?
If you don't have to put their name, it would be the best upgrade deal for those who use a line from Famliy plan so far.

I was considering Costco $70 discount, but this could be better deal.

They never asked me for an employee name. I guess they figure that if you found the site, you must be legit. Kind of amazing that an internet company is that deluded in 2010. I am not ashamed to take advantage of their naivet
 
I tried to order it on wirefly F&F, but they asked me last 4 digit of social security number, my current verizon wireless PIN, and driver's license information.
This account is opened by my dad's friend, so I don't know those information except last 4 digit of SSN.
does my current verizon wireless PIN means the password for verizon wireless online account? What is PIN they want from me? never told there is PIN on account..
can I just use my own driver's license info? or it has to be account holder's?

man.. I don't wanna miss another good deal after free phone friday..

I looked around for you. It looks like the PIN is different than the password. It was set up when the account was started. It's also NOT the same you use to access voicemail.

Since the account is in someone else's name, they'd be looking for his information on the upgrade.
 
This looks like a good deal! Does it matter how far you are from the end of your existing contract if you are doing a contract extension? I'm still about 8 months away from the end of my current 2-year contract.
