Help Fascinate refugee with a question

I just got my shiny new Charge in the mail about 10 minutes before I had to leave for work so it's charging now so it'll have a full battery when I get home.
My question is; since my Fascinate is rooted and needs to be flashed back to stock prior to sending it back to VZW, do I need to do the flashing before I activate my charge? I just don't want to activate my new phone if I'm not going to be able to flash everything back to the Fascinate once it's "deactivated" and made incapable of making phone calls.

If anyone has had to do the same, I'd love some advice or at least someone to tell me I'm being overly paranoid and have nothing to worry about by activating my new toy before reflashing the old one.

You'll be able to odin back to stock regardless of the activation status of either phone.

I would flash the Fascinate first. You should check the phone to make sure its completely stock before activating the Charge. If you activate the Charge then need to reactivate the Fascinate you will burn your sim card and need to get a new one.
I would flash one of the stock odins and take the latest ota update. From there you can pack it up and move onto the Charge.

Isn't there a full stock Odin package that doesn't require an OTA? I guess I'm just overly anxious to play with my new toy.

I flashed back to stock before activating the Charge and I'm glad I did... you can't get the OTAs via wifi.
