Root Fastboot command not found while unlocking bootloader

I was unlocking my bootloader for my wildfire s and i went well till step 7 provided in htcdev.
When i type in command prompt "fastboot oem get_identifier_token"
it says fastboot is not recognized as an internal or external command. I have updated my SDK toold and fastboot.exe along with other files are there already.
So can any1 help me out ??? :(

Cosmonovex, welcome to Android Forums :hello:

I went ahead and moved this into All Things Root since that's what you are attempting to do.

Try what Caro said and also verify that you are running the command in the command prompt from the location where you installed SDK. If no luck, post back.

Success!! :D It was all my fault sorry guys!
And yes usb debugging was on since step 1
Cafe u were right i putted the fastboot.exe in wrong folder thanks for replies now 3 more things left to do - root , flashing cm7.2 , kernel and partitiong sd card :)

I got a new problem :(
I installed ROM manager from Play store then flashed Clockworkmod. Then backed up my Stock Sense ROM using it. Then i flashed CM7.2 stable version and a kernel but im stuck at the boot animation screen! That blue ring around the droid with skateboard keeps running and doesnt stop :(
Did i brick my phone ?

I recommend that you never use rom manager to flash roms or recoveries. It's just not as safe or as reliable as flashing through HBOOT/RECOVERY.

Yes, you soft-bricked the phone. It probably won't be the last time! :D

1. Confirm that the rom you flashed is right for your phone, whether Marvel or MarvelC. If not, find and flash the correct rom using the mini-procedure at the bottom of this rooting guide:
http://androidforums.com/wildfire-s-all-things-root/480954-guide-how-root-wildfire-s-s-finally.html

2. If it's correct, enter recovery through hboot, do a factory reset, clear cache, go into advanced and clear dalvick cache and reboot the phone.

3. Uninstall rom manager and always use bootloader/recovery in the future.

Hope that helps!

Hey guys sorry for late reply. I got alot of homework in school and got tests every week. Anyway the ROM i flashed was the correct one i just wiped everything and reflashed it :D and now it works perfectly and then i flashed gapps and eoghans speed mod kernel.

Btw should i download titanium backup ? everyone recommends it. Will it take alot of internal memory ? because i got 70MB and thats because i partitioned my sd card and downloaded link 2 sd.

Thanks in advance :)
