Root fastboot mode?

My zte warp sequqent got bricked because I installed a boot animation. It just loads up and sits on a white screen after boot animation finishes. But on past that in order to fastboot do I need custom stuff installed to my phone/ because I don't have CWM, how do i fastboot from stock or its not possible?

Use adb to rename the animation file and rename the original file back to its original name.

what os are you running? if ics then all you need to do is use the ftm mode and download a file from the warp sequent from the zte site. make sure you have everything installed like the drivers and most likely adb. follow the instructions and hopefully itll get you on stock. if that dont work try to find an update.zip for the phone

I'm currently on jellybean, so does this mean im stuck?

hmm a little bit tricky on that. can you boot into the phone or not. also how did you install a boot animation. you have to have root for it to work. and do you have adb access? if you do then you can be saved. if you have adb access i can walk you through getting cwm installed.

Well i guess i have to buy a new phone because it was rooted, i should have came here 1st before i had factory reset cause it erased my phone and now the debug mode won't work because settings are factory while still on root, i can get into ftm mode and dfu and the stock recovery menu, what do u mean by adb access? and i installed the boot animation from the app Boot Animations from google play store.

you should have used rom toolbox lite to install a new animation. and ftm mode will work. hopefully it can be saved. download the tool from zte's website and then on the phone go to ftm mode. and plug in your phone and have the tool do the rest

The ZTE update tool is your best bet. It will bring your device back to B09 which is ICS. Then you can update to B11, then to B13. A pain, but it may save your device.

edit: here is a link to the tool

hes right. i updated my phone to his tool and it works like a charm. it even wipes root as well. so it will be at a stock rom. and if you want to root the phone look into framaroot. it roots jellybean like a charm. cwm is a must for this phone and any other phone. install cwm asap. you will need it completely

My phone goes to ftm mode but when i plug it in the program doesn't even see the phone.

After the tool is installed it says update package. SHould i update it to that? and also when its in ftm mode it fails at scanning port on the update tool.

Updating sounds like a good thing. Not sure about the port situation. If that tool does not work for you i would suggest sending your device to zte or buying a new phone. Good luck :)

edit: make sure you have the device drivers installed. Maybe that is why the port scan failed?

ok, so i got the phone to load again but, now i can't connect to wifi or anything and when i plug my phone up with usb and check the folder its empty, so would u be able to upload your phone files so i can add them in to my phone?

If I were you, I would install cwm before it breaks again. Then you can flash a rom and be all set.

Ok so i Have CWM and i also changed the boot animation that messes my device up. Now my phone sucessfully boots up but now when i try to sign into google account it says "Can't establish a reliable connection to this server. This could be a temporary problem or your android device may not be provisioned for data services" I recently transferred my number to a different cell phone until i fixed this one. So do i need the 3G data for it to allow me to sign in?

You should be able to sign in to your google account using wifi, but not with 3g since your device is not activated. If wifi is not working, try wiping data and flashing a rom to see if it clears up.

look into all things root. it will show you the roms on here. follow instructions fully but when you come to the final part when booting select keep cwm on the phone. disable stock recovery. then you will be all set. glad you got your phone back up and running

FYI, the partition updater only updates from b11 to b13 so f you have anything other than b11 partitions currently, you will get an error when flashing.
