Root fastboot problem sending 'recovery'

I have a Nexus S and I've installed Android SDK. My Windows 7 x64 detected all the drivers correctly.
Then, I've entered recovery mode, tried to make fastboot oem unlock, but said that the phone was already unlocked. Ok until here... The phone came unlocked ...

Then, I've tried to install a custom recovery (ClockworkMod Recovery for Nexus S):
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
But is just halts there with the message:
sending 'recovery' (3992 KB)...
and it does nothing ...
help please ...

i'm having the same exact problem on my incredible 2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
