Fastbooted Moto G Stylus

Oops, I did it again. Something did, anyway. The only decent thing about it is that I can scroll through the options this time. What should I choose, recovery mode? What do I do after that? Will I lose any data, or accidentally do a factory reset?

Can you explain more? It's this for the bootloop the phone is in that you mentioned in a different thread? Or something else?

This is a different thread. That crappy Cricket somehow rebooted itself and is now working. This is a Moto G Stylus from walmart. Theoretically the carrier is AT&T but really it's wifi only. The power key was kind of stuck, with some crud, and I was trying to take care of that when it happened. I think maybe I caused it by doing that. Why don't they do a better job of "hiding" fastboot, to keep people from blundering into it?

never been to fastboot by accident before. i only get to fastboot when i need to which is hardly never. some phones it is a timing thing. some phones it is a combo of vol and power buttons. you can also get to fastboot by using fastboot commands from your computer when your phone is hooked up to it.

there should be a reboot option in the fastboot menu. if that is all you are asking.

Yes, but how do I use that? Will I lose any data? Will it be factory reset? I don't want that. I've gone to some trouble to get this Stylus more or less the way I want it. If I could somehow hook it up to a computer, would that help? Could I use even a chromebook (gasp)?

some phones are different as to what the options are in fastboot. if you just choose reboot. you will not lose data.

That's a relief. Can I use a chromebook to do that? If I can, how would I? Also, isn't there sonething on here about how to trick a crimebook into being a normal, decent computer? I know I asked quite a while back and I'm pretty sure I got an answer.

It depends on the chromebook. You will need to make sure you can run Linux commands via USB. Not all of them support that. How to find out, I'm not sure yet. I'll have to do more digging on it later. You will also need to have adb and fastboot command setup as well. I can help you with that, but I'll have to do that when I get home from work later today.
