Faster LTE!

HanSolo

On my Crapple 5, I was pulling down 5mps max.

I noticed things were faster on this, so I downloaded SpeedTest and found I'm pulling down 20!

This phone just gets better and better!

Anybody else?

Haven't been in a good LTE area to test it yet, but my wifi is ridiculously better than the iPhone and LG G2. I was only getting around 30 mbps with them.

I gotta admit that is not typical. But from my basement, I just ran this, and I pulled down an amazing 39.27 Mbps, and uploaded at 7.45 Mbps.
Nice!

Update: Funny this is, when I enabled wifi and connected to my ATT uverse. I pulled down 12.23 Mpbs, and 1.54 Mbps upload. Makes you wonder if I should drop uverse, though we cant since when my phone leave, so would the internet.

On Verizon I'm finding very good signal when compared to my galaxy nexus. On par with my wife's moto x. Happy with the phone so far

What is LTE?? :p

I do not have LTE in my area, yet.......
I have read the N3 is very good on LTE.
Also depending on your carrier.

OP; glad you are getting such fast internet. I'm jealous!

Lateck,

Yeah, I'm in Canada with Telus and I am getting 30-40mbps down and 10-20 mbps up with my Note 2. But with very bad ping around 100ms.

I don't think the Note 3 would do any better than this.

So far I'm not feeling any wow moments with the Note 3. I'll be sticking with my Note 2 for now. :p

My signal is sooooooo much better than my gnex...wish I wasn't having this "watchon" problem...I have disabled it, and it seems to work fine....but bothers me because everything should work on brand new phone...should I take it back.

PS- phone has been locking up here and there then a message pops up saying "watchon" has stopped working.

One word: patience :)

WatchOn is new, I'm sure they'll work the bugs out. Even Apple who's pretty good about delivering bug free software has _several_ issues of significance causing iPhones to crash when running many main stream apps. I know I own both platforms.

My new Note 3 is far more stable, fast & reliable than Apples iOS 7 is at the present.

As you may or may not be aware of, it's a rare day when any new smartphone / tablet / or laptop is 100% bug free. No matter what the brand or price point.

From reading on others having this issue...I'm gonna wait...glad that's how it's working out too...I hate having to start all over when you switch a phone out. Thx

I am really glad to hear that. I am still using my Nexus, waiting on my Note 3 to get here, and the radio on the Nexus really is horrible. That is the number one thing I HATE about my Nexus is the horrible radio on that phone. I was hoping for an improved radio on the Note 3.

HOLY SMOKES!

Reading this thread inspired me to run my own speed test on Verizon LTE:

46ms ping
51.04 MBPS download!
11.31 MBPS upload!

:D

I thought my 802.11ac router was lightning fast, but this thing's LTE speeds are a slight cut above. I'll still likely stay on wifi though, just to get used to trying to reduce data consumption (I DO expect you-know-who to eventually kill off unlimited data, and I may as well be ready for it). It's nice to know, though, that when using FoxFi I have a stupid fast connection!

Wow, and I thought I was getting fast speeds!

I'm perfectly happy with this Note 3. Only thing I'm second guessing is black over white!

Isn't this one of the first phones that supports the higher end LTE Verizon is rolling out? I remember reading about them have an advanced level of LTE they were rolling out and I think the S4 was the first phone that could use it. This would be like the second or third?

Think you are right. That said, except for some Experimental/trial deployments in Asia/Pac that form of LTE is more than a few years away. Primary focus on new LTE deployments are coverage, and equally important is network consistency to support standards based Voice over LTE
