It never ceases to amaze me when people who've committed heinous crimes against those less powerful than themselves, take the coward's way out rather than face something more powerful than them, the legal system. Shame.

When I first saw that he was on suicide watch after an earlier attempt, I had to wonder how he was able to be successful. Somebody should be losing their job over this. Does not matter who he was or what he did or did not do, everybody deserves the same consideration if they are in some kind of custodial situation and have been placed on suicide watch. Otherwise, why bother having "suicide watch"?

Even though they tried their best, but failed, to hold onto her, I'll bet the two people feel terrible guilt. I hope they seek professional help to cope with this tragedy.

Her parents...I just can't imagine. :( When we sent our daughter off to England as her college graduation gift, it was such a happy and exciting time. No one expects it to end in such a terrible tragedy.

When I first read this story I thought there was something off. It was from a different paper and apparently one person was hanging out the plane holding onto her while two others held that persons legs. My first thought was how do you orchestrate that in the split second she opened the door. Now that article says they held onto her for two minutes. Sorry but not a chance. The mention of the bottle of sleeping pills just makes it more suspicious. I hope the truth comes out :( RIP

Details are sketchy, but sister Jane Fonda has confirmed his death. He was 79. Update: cause of death was respiratory failure from lung cancer.

I had a serious schoolgirl crush on him after seeing Easy Rider...oh, those tight, black leather pants...

No, I think it's perfectly fine.

I remember that day really well, as my daughter and I had just gotten off a plane at LAX and that now-famous video of the crash was all over the news. When you see that video, you can't help but be amazed at the crews' skill, and that there weren't more fatalities.

RIP, Mr Haynes.
 
Jessi Combs female Auto racer holds title for being the fastest woman on Earth killed in incident yesterday.
Personally I didn't know of her

Oh, damn... Valerie Harper, famous for her role as Rhoda on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, has died. She was 80.

The cause of death hasn't been released yet. I know she battled cancer, including brain cancer, but don't know if that played a part in her death.

My heart goes out to all the victims and their families. How many more times are we going to see this though? I don't want to sound cold hearted but I wish shit like this never made it onto the news. All it does is desensitize others to violence and make sure the sick bastard who did it gets remembered forever. Seriously put some happy news on for a change instead of 24/7 death :(
 
Lost two of my family friends,
Donna Eckerty due to cancer,
age 83.

Dianna Bradley due to a heart transplant, she had her own blood go through, spend a lot of time with grandchildren,
was really good friends with one another, I am sort of glad I got engaged at this time.
