Favorite Android/Optimus V Apps - List Yours

My favorite is Netflix 1.2.2 Which has been modded by Dblfstr over at XDA! If you're rooted and running Gingerbread, there is no green bar.

Here's a link if you want it!

Ok, guess I'll try to narrow it down to one app. Truth be told though, all of the apps I have on my phone are my favorites. :D

Right now my fav app is SeriesGuide Show Manager. I get so busy that I forget what shows are on what night, so it keeps track of them for me (after I set my favorites) and sends me notifications set up through my calendar. It even lets me know the dates of future series premiers.

I had this app on my Intercept, but it lagged the phone out really bad. I stumbled upon it again last month and gave it a try.. runs smooth as silk on the OpV!

Oooo that looks awesome! I didn't know such a thing existed-must check it out now! :)

Handcent for text messaging - COMPLETELY customizable

K-9 Mail - many more options than the built-in Email program, including "Empty Trash" and delete from POP server

Note Everything - memo pad, can't believe something like this isn't included

Simple Sound Profile Widget - does just what it says

Can you update all of your contacts at once with Handscent? I need to let them all know I've changed my cel number...

I don't haνe Haηδscεηt but it should be under the option "Group Messaging". There's quite a feω aρρs on the Μarκεt that comes ωith Grouρ Μεssaging. :)

I don't think this has been mentioned but I like it a lot even though it does just one quick task: Screen Off

Usually when you are done with the phone the screen stays lit for 30 seconds or more (depending on what you've made your setting) while you are not using the phone or have put it in a pocket.

With this app you just tap the icon and the screen immediately turns off.

I like it a lot.

BTW, great forum. Newbies like me can really learn a good deal about these amazing devices.

The button on the top right doesn't quite get it there for you?

My Tracks is my favorite app yet (I ride a dual sport motorcycle and it tells me where I've been) but HeyTell is running a close second. Pretty damn convenient being able to leave voice messages for someone or communicating back and forth without using the phone.

Got this one as the free app of the day at the Amazon store.
I would pay for this one in a heartbeat.

FlexT9 Speak-Trace-Write-Tap

4 ways to input text into ANY application INCLUDING voice dictation.
Can be setup as the default keyboard. I do have it on the SD card
to save space.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
===================
Groove IP. Direct dial using stock dialer with choice for mobile network,
3g or wifi. Use Google Voice and save your minutes.

These are my favorite, daily use applications.

Honorable mention:
Feedly (RSS, can use your greader as a feed also)
Gas Buddy.

Enjoy

I read some where that the VM Optimus hardware included a FM tuner. Has anyone heard this and if so is there an App to download that makes use of the FM tuner built into the phone?
The LG Optimus V does not include a radio tuner. Tune-In Radio is a free app that IMHO works better than a tuner. No external antenna/earphone (you can use BT headphones), better reception (no distance problems).
Good luck with your V, I have been happy with mine
Chris
LG Optimus V, rooted, Android 2.3.4

Edit: GetJar has the Pro version for FREE. Includes recording ability.

After trimming my collection down a bit, here are the ones I use now:

Battery: Juice Defender keeps the battery working longer
Guitar Tuner: GStrings Free works pretty well, no problems, includes temperings
Camera: HDR Camera – excellent photos, takes time to take them.
Barcode Scanner for QR codes, QuickPic for viewing
Misc: Android Assistant, Fast Reboot, App2SD Free
Health: My Tracks for logging my walks
Launcher: GO Launcher Ex has the most stuff. ICS Launcher is a pretty cool Ice Cream Sandwich clone/launcher. My current fave.
Network: WiFi Analyser is very good
Connection: MyPhoneExplorer is excellent for connecting phone to computer. WiFi, USB or BlueTooth
Notes: Scratch Pad
App Stores: GetJar, Amazon Appstore, Appbrain
Car stuff: Gasoline Fillup Record keeps good track of mileage
Clock: Alarm Clock Extreme(Free on GetJar)
Weather: BeWeather (Free on GetJar)

Phone: Groove IP (front end for Google Voice, VOIP)
Widgets: Weather: BeWeather has decent weather widgets,
Calendar: Smooth Calendar has the best calendar widgets,
Clocks: gTabSiMiClock the best so far, with Minimalistic Text close behind. ICS provides a nice analog clock widget, as does Alarm Clock Extreme. ICS looks better, ACE is slightly easier to read.
Messaging: HeyWire does a good job of messaging via WiFi
Keyboard: Swype is still my favorite.
Not a launcher: Fake IPhone 4S is a cool app, most stuff works.
Office suite: Documents to Go is the only Excel viewer that was able to view my spreadsheet correctly. QuickOffice was the worst, OfficeSuite came close.

PowerTutor - Android app on AppBrain
You can actually watch how opening and closing an app effects power (drain). Turn on airplane mode and watch it drop! Shows you mW of power for EACH app, or all together. Best battery monitor I've tried! It drains the battery itself, so only use it for short tests, or some fixed time (ie: don't forget to turn it off), it shows you what it's using.

When you first open the app you get a warning that it might not be compatible to the phone. I ignored it and seems to function well.
