FavoriteTablet Apps

Android Enthusiast
New to tablets but have used Android phone for about a year and love it.
Getting a SGT 7+ Tuesday and would like to know what are your favorite apps for this.
Calendar
MS Office docs
Email Client
Browser
Launcher
Any other must haves?

I highly recommend ever note. I use it to keep all my links in the cloud so that I can access them from any device including PC, I pad, Sgt 7 or smartphone. Whatever device you're on just install ever note once and then your links are always there. You can also keep notes, documents and so on.. I love it! Its free and you get lots of space.

If you're into games get galaxy on fire 2, shadowgun and contract killer. Gof 2 and ck are free I believe.

Shadowgun is awesome though..

Other than that it comes with most of what you need... YouTube, Calender, browser is nice and speedy... you may want to get Skype I don't know cause I don't use it. Can also get some great Widgets in the android market too. But definately get evernote for keeping links between devices!

Hope that helps. Good luck :-) .

TextPlus. I like it a lot because if you have a wi-fi-only tab, texting isn't a normal option. TextPlus works very well with wi-fi (you get your own phone number for texting).
I also like ADWLauncher EX, especially after the latest update.

FWIW, I have the T-Mobile TabPlus 7.0, so I'm just using the Quick Office app which came pre-installed for Word/Excel.

Using default internet browser 90% of the time, along with Firefox, for sites such as CNBC.com, as the stock browser will not render the page due to "too many re-directs"...no Flash support with Firefox however.

Using default email/Gmail clients as they are good enough for me..."K-9 Mail" is the generally accepted go to 3rd party POP3 client. I'm also using default calendar app synching with Google calendar...again, good enough for me, and synchs instantly with all my devices.

Other required apps of mine:

- EStrong's File Explorer (very easy to connect to network shares, manage files)

- Jump Desktop (Remote Desktop app)

- Power Amp (mp3 player)

- xiia Live (streaming Shoutcast stations)

- Skype (I have "Skype Out", $3/mo. for unlimited calls to land/cell, and uses my cell # as my caller ID...also have "Skype In" which allows calls from land/cell, but a different ph # is provided...workaround is to forward calls from existing # to Skype #) works for me because my tab supports cellular connection, but if WiFi is available, its all good.

- Dish Remote Access/Vulkano Mobile...however specific equipment is required to watch your TV content

I just became a member to this forum and read the recommendations of some users here and as suggested I download the Evernote app. Well so far so good, and want to start using it. I read the intro having signed up and it suggests sharing photos and business cards, can some one please help me get started on this. Thanks guys.

Evernote

create one using the web or the Tab;

simply select from the Tab the options to share the note

- Business Calendar, better and less buggy then Calender Pad, better then the stock.

- GDocs. Not GDocs for Notepad, which crashes frequently. Syncs well with Google Docs and stores the doc's locally, so you don't need WiFi to use

- Dolphin HD browser. I am amazingly frustrated with the stock Google Browser, which WILL NOT sync with Chrome. Dolphin is well recommended

- Double Twist for music. Much better then Google Music, which is cloud based. Between DoubleTwist and TuneClone, all my iPopd music is now on the tablet. Note that you CANNOT store the music on the SD card, so make sure you have the space. The stock Samsung music player and headphones are actually very good, quality is as good as Apple.

- CoPilot GPS mapping software. $10 for US, $20 for all North America. Bettert then Google as the maps store locally, so no data needed. Maybe the best GPS software I've ever seen or used, much better then any Garmin I've ever used or seen. The tablet is a great GPS as BTW, with a $12 Arkon car mount, this unit works great as a GPS.

Other then that, the 7.0 Plus has very good stock apps, just as task Manager, Adobe Reader, etc....
