Feature you are most looking for in Android 2.1

+1 to Osli on suggestion of home landscape option TO BOTH SIDES!!

And +1 to Hacker to be able to select with calls on threeway are disconnected. You can't end the first on, or switch back, quite obnoxious.

+1 to TroyBoyTN on the Bluetooth dialing. It is absurd.

If not mentioned, I want a revision of the in-call screen. Slide to end, and options to change "end" button if the screen is going to cut off, or be enabled to cut off screen w/o ending call with a button while in a call.

I also hope they have a 360 degree rotate on web pages and texting especially texting the bottom gets in the way...

no it would be 360 degrees. like i said, 360 degrees is a circle 180 is a straight line.. hmmmmmm

Hmmmm...

I think the Hero already has 360 degree rotation. Quick spin it 360 degrees, oh look, its perfect.

Now if you want the trackball end on top, that would be !!180!! degrees wouldn't it?;)

I know we are all waiting with bated breath for the next android update in Q1 2010. What feature are you hoping they fix/improve with the update? Personally, I am hoping that they get the proximity screen deal to turn off when I am talking on the phone. I don't even know if this is something that can be fixed by an update but I have hung up on so many people with my cheek that I call it getting "Cheek closed" on someone.

I found an app on the Android Market just yesterday that helped me with this problem. Just search "proximity" in the Market and then the first thing that should come up is "Promiximity Sensor" with that little tool icon on the left. Its been working for me all day.

anti dust modulator app....its a downloadable dust repellant that can be installed on and under the screen!!!!

damn you dust!!!!!!

Battery life would be great. I love this phone, but I'm on it all the time and find myself stretching out my longest usb cable just so I can sit down on the couch and play with it at 10 o'clock at night before I go to bed. I don't usually go to bed at 10, but once my phone dies I have no reason to stay awake.:D

What I am hoping for most:

Improved dialer speed.
Improved alarm functions (in the mornings if I am not careful my phone still snoozes even though I swiped)
Improved speed and multitasking.
Bluetooth file transfer.

That's about it.

Google Nav! I have been looking at new TomTom's for about a month now, hopefully this will help me solve that problem, now if we could get a nice mount like they have for the Droid.

Why not use SprintNav? I have had no issues with it as of yet. I don't use it much, but it hasn't failed ever.

I want the ability to edit all the goofy mispelt words, individually, I have added to the dictionary, without wiping out the entire dictionary.

+1, but i'd be willing to wipe it out and start over to default. is that possible without wiping the phone out?

  1. Much Better battery life (this is my only real issue right now, and I've tried just about everything in the battery thread, short of a factory reset, and turning off the mobile network)
  2. Bluetooth file transfer and bluetooth dialing.
  3. Three way calling improvement as outlined on this thread.
  4. Ability to delete individual entries in the dictionary.
  5. Better file management built in (I occasionally still have to use a Task Killer).
  6. Improved market, including more applications so we catch up to the iPhony.
  7. Some means of importing/syncing notes from Outlook.
  8. Improved speed (not that it is bad now, but who wouldn't take more speed)
  9. Improve the native mail program so you could select all and Mark Unread, instead of one at a time.

I really hope we can alter the dictionary instead of having to wipe it clean when you put the wrong word in. I don't know why this was not a option to start with

After using thhe samsung instinct for over two years, I got use to its voice caller id thru my bluetooth, I downloaded one off the market for my hero, but it doesn't stand up to the one on from the instinct. Oh and better battery life!

What I am most looking forward to, but doubt it will be there, is a slider "end call" button for the phone app. Wish someone would make an application to replace the existing push end call button.
