Root Fell in love with the Desire all over again, (Sense HD ROM Recommendation)

For those who don't want to wait for an (official?) update to Sense 2.0 for your Desire's, I strongly recommend, (as others have), the following baadnewz DHD ROM:

[ROM][newSense][17/12]DHD Rom Port by baadnwz v1.3 STABLE|FAST|SMOOTH|A2SD|1800+SCORE - xda-developers

I have been running this ROM, along with Diaz's theme [THEME] Gloss Blue HD Sense Theme 1.1a - xda-developers, but link also on the ROM link above) for about 3 weeks now, and the visual experience is nothing short of amazing, and I love it. Threw it on the wife's Desire, and she loves it too! The ROM is very quick and makes the Desire very responsive.

I am a big fan of Sense, and Sense 2.0 doesn't disappoint. Many polished widgets and apps available from the HTC Hub, and the features that you get from htcsense.com makes sticking with the new Sense, over other non-sense launchers, a no brainer.

My 3 run Quadrant average puts me in the 1530's, which is plenty quick. Of course, since this ROM supports Apps2SD+, you are going to want to create an ext3/4 partition after your FAT32 partition on your SD card. The ROM includes power saving mods and the GPU and SDCard speed up mods, (see thread for details)

(tip:) Get Spare Parts and set Window and Transition animations to Fast. Makesan incrediblly fast user experience.

I'm using the baadnewz rom too after trying others, my only gripe is that the text is a little small for my old eyes. The battery life is fantastic, when I checked this morning I had 70% left on over a full days (24 hours) use.

Maybe so dan but hopefully there will be a port of the z/hd update for the desire so I will just update whichever comes first :/

Yes thats what I mean. If the desire doesnt get it, the hd / z will. Porting does take time though.

All this for HTC sense.

Yes, seen that. Its a shame. But other than 720P recording, nothing needs doing anyway. Infact, who needs 720p recording on a phone anyway?

And I gave into the temptation... Boy! Am i loving it? :)

Edit: I cant get to install the theme.! Downloaded it twice, seems to be aborting the installation.

I ran into this problem when I went from v1.0 to v1.3. I needed to clear out some space because there wasn't enough to apply the theme.

I removed HTC Locations from the zip (in system/app and system/lib.. anything *Laputa). Flashed that modified zip, and then booted. Then reboot back into recovery and flash the theme.. and it works.

Got plethora of space but it shows problem with extracting... still no clues.!

You can flash over using recovery - just boot into recovery, select "install zip from SD card", install.

So just backup apps with Titnaium, backup SC card to PC & then go into recovery?

I don't need to partition my SD card again?
