Help fh in the sms reply box?

My husband has a incredible 2 phone, his very first smart phone.. However, this is the second time this has happened and we're not really sure why. However, a few days ago he went to open a text that was sent to him and read it. Well, he had noticed that there was an "fh" in the reply box way before the keyboard even appears and what not. I couldn't even figure out how to keep it from coming back. I would delete it, and then I would open up the text and it would be there again.

The only way I could get rid of it is by restarting the phone, and it worked for a few days but just about 20 minutes ago he asked me about the fh again and it's always fh. No other letters or anything. But I told him restart the phone, and that should get rid of it which it did.

My question is, is anyone having this same problem as well? What could be causing this? Is there something that we need to change or set or something? lol

This is driving me nuts. I have tried searching on google, but that wasn't any good luck at all. So I'm hoping coming here would help.

Thanks to anyone who has a solution to this problem.

This actually reminds me of a similar problem I had. I once failed to send a text and saved it to drafts. Somehow, a glitch would place that text in the text box without me asking all the time after. I cleared the drafts and rebooted and the text went away.

I'm guessing you husband did the same thing -- typed "fh" by accident, didn't send it and saved it to drafts, and got the same glitch. Since you rebooted the phone and it went away, I'm assuming it's the same problem.

My question to you is, does the "fh" return even after rebooting? What patterns are you seeing (a specific contact being texted, for example)? If the text returns after rebooting, this is where our similarities would end.

I had the exact same problem and it kept coming back until I did the following:

Go to settings - applications - manage applications - all (tab at the top)

Scroll all the way down to "messages" and select it.

Then click clear data.

The other option is to go into Messages, hit the menu softkey, then tap Drafts. Sometimes a reboot is necessary to fully resolve it. If matterrr's method works, then that's a great option too.

Thanks for these other methods of trying to get rid of them, if it happens again I will try one of them to see if it solves the problem...

Also, when I reboot the phone it does not reappear again for a few days and then out of no where my hubby will come walking into the room saying "it's back, fix it" lol!

So I will have to keep these methods in mind when this happens again.

Thanks!
