Help File Managing

I am a relative newbie to this forum, so forgive me if this has been asked a million times.

I have an Incredible, and need to know which files are safe to rename, move, and manipulate.
For instance, I want to move my music, pictures, and other media around, and rename the folders so their easier to recognize, but I don't know this system like I do Windows.

Can you rename, create, and move folders without ruining the functionality of the phone?

I think you will find by looking at where the music, vid, jog, etc files are located they are in specific folders and the phone looks for those files in those folders. Those folders can be recreated on your SD card and the phone will still find them. I have my music files in various sub folders under the original folder name and they are found without any problem. I also created sub folders under the original folder name for my pictures and that creates albums, if you will, when you open your gallery for viewing.
