File Shredder...

Ok, so file shredder is supposed to make it so the files that you delete with this app are non retrievable. What about the files that were not deleted with this app? Is there an app out there for overwriting files that have already been deleted?

Never heard of an app like this.

I'd copy the SD card contents on PC with a card reader, format the SD card on PC and write the contents back to the SD card.

... and then install one of this shredder apps on the phone

I don't even have an sd card installed in my phone. I'm just using the built in memory...

I don't really see the point of a shredder. Most of the time, that effect is something that you want to avoid. People usually WANT to recover their files if they get deleted accidentally.

I use "safe delete" for wiping files, and "forever gone" for free space. There are very few apps of this kind on Droid, and I'm not sure if any of them do the job properly, yet I still use them ;-)

It is just being extremely cautious. When you delete a file it is not really gone and can still be recovered, until it is overwritten.
