Went through exact same process last year when going from a line of N series (n80 to N95 to N97) then to HTC Desire. Calendar and contacts can be done really well by exchange.

I think you'd need to copy the .vcard or .vcf files from the N8 memory to a PC and I think you can import them to outlook exchange on the PC.

If you haven't got exchange than this works equally with Gmail - it has a calendar and contacts function that will be synced down to your GSII when you get it and set up accounts. However the SMS, I'm not sure if your going to be able to copy them over.

Sorry to be so vague, as I'm trying to remember from last year. But one thing I will say is get the .vcf flies from the memory card (or where ever they're stored) and make a backup, SO THAT if worst comes to worst, you can just type them all in. Can your N* sync contacts and calendar with gmail or exchange?

Hmmm...Tks , i dont think ovi suite can sync with gmail, but exchange i think its possible, yet i dont have it...lol...

sms n calendar are of most importance to me...contacts i guess i can just copy to sim then sim to sgs2 right?

Jees...lol i got a feeling that this is gonna be messy...btw is there an app for doing all this the painless way?

I'm facing the same problem now, I've imported the contacts from my N8 to my Desire z, but calendar and SMS messages is giving me a hard time.

Anyone got a solution to import SMS from Nokia N8 to Android?

Kind regards
Kim
