Help file transfer problems with a Mac

Anyone have a method for saving sms messages from 1 Android phone (I had a Nexus) to the Mac (Macbook Air 10.7.4) and then to a new Android phone (Galaxy S4)?

Android File Transfer works fine to drag and drop music, videos and ebooks, but I don't know where to look for text messages - if indeed you can drag and drop those.

Any help appreciated.

Look into a program called "Helium" on the play store.

I tried it with one of my save games and worked ( I have non rooted phone) and I believe it will for you.

for non rooted and rooted phones also!

Edit:
This is the one missing app that I think every phone should have.
I have been craving for this app for a long time.
only bad thing is you have to plug your phone into a computer and run the app for 2 seconds for it to enable the program to do its thing, I don't care as long as it works and it does.

Hi all,
Just bought new samsung s3, got rid of apple as i thought samsung was better, however, i now find that the android file transfer does NOT work, and i am so disappointed also kies not working either but i was told that the file transfer would work, which is why i switched from apple to samsung android phone.
Could anyone please tell me what is going on?
cheers guys

Format your sd card to regain the deleted / unusable space.
and
don't use android file transfer app to delete files on internal/sd card.

delete unwanted files using app my files

and you will have no more problems

You don't have to do or go through any of the above mentioned junk. Go to your phone dialer. Dial *#0808# set it to mtp&adb. Boom. -.-

When your phone updates it changes the USB mode but doesn't change it back. You must switch it back to mtp&adb using the phone dialer dial *#0808# when you press # it will open it and click it. Boom

I believed in it so hard... Unfortunately it didn't work. My Mac still does not recognize my Note 4 ( I used File Transfer without pbms for a month and it stopped working today). Are you sure the Usb settings are mtp&adb?
