Help Files I created on root directory disappeared.

I created a directory called /bin on my DINC and placed a few shell scripts which I was able to run using root explorer.

Now they are gone as well as the directory I created.

Does root structure of the phone get rebuilt when the phone is rebooted? Since you can't execute these scripts from sdcard is there someplace I can create these that will not get distroyed ?
