Help Files stored on SD

Sp00ny

Lurker
Loving my new Note 2 LTE. As usual with a new handset, I copied a load of music to the SD card, I create a new folder in the root of the SD called Music. Now the Music Player finds all the songs, but in the My Files app, it finds nothing. Also, all the album cover art images appear in my Gallery, which I dont want. Is there something wromg with the way I have filed my mp3s?

Similarly other files I have manually stored on the SD have not been found, such as a backup file for an app.

Thanks

Hi

Using myfiles, go to all files, then extSdCard which is your removeable SD card. The internal 16Gb is in a folder /storage/sdcard0 and the removeable card is in /storage/extSDCard

In many apps you can specify the path for data storage etc

Thank you Roger, didnt spot that. Is there a way to hide the album arts from my gallery?

If you're rooted, you could try using an app called Root Explorer, go to the directory where the album art is and create a new file called .nomedia

That's the exact name, no other extension. I assume you don't need to be rooted for it work though, you just need to get that file into that directory.
