Root Finallly...good Evo performance with Fresh 3.4 and netarchy 4.1.9

I have been looking for a good, stable combination of Fresh ROM and netarchy's EVO kernel. I think I finally have it: Fresh 3.4 and netarchy 4.1.9.1 (cfs with less aggressive undervolting). I tried installing the Fresh 3.4 ROM with the included stock kernel, but performance was horrid...for some reason the CPU was always pegging out at near 100% although there were no obvious "rogue" apps...just the Android system processes. I then tried running the netarchy 4.1.9cfs with HAVS and would get occasional phone restarts, often under heavy use, and also occasional phone lockups (much more annoying). Not sure what exactly what the issue was, but the the less aggressive kernel seems to be the sweet spot for HAVS, at least to me...I've been running this combo for a few days and no restarts or lockups, and phone performance has been smooth and snappy (overclocked to 1190mHz). Battery life seems to be pretty good, although I now use the Seidio extended battery so it's less of an issue. Just thought I'd share this combo for anyone with similar requirements. Enjoy!

I heard that 4.1.9.1 no havs was the one to use, have you tried it?

there are some with havs and some without. i am running the one without and above is the one with.

I understand the one I linked to has HAVS, but apparently it's the "less aggressive" undervolting that's key. To be honest I'm not really sure, all I can tell you is that my Evo is displaying remarkable stability and smoothness compared to previous ROM/kernel combos. I also did a quadrant score check...previously I had never gotten a score much over 1,000, but now I'm scoring consistently around 1,300. I don't place too much credence on quadrant scores, but it does seem significant in this case.

I would try the kernel without HAVS, but I'm happy with this one and I'm sticking with the old adage: if it ain't broke...

I am a complete noob and this is my first post. I have been reading about rooting and custom roms and kernels and in a span of a few days have gone about unrevoking my phone with the nand unlock, making nandroid backups, installing fresh (the latest) and tonight I just flashed the netarchy 4.1.9.1 kernel that has the aggressive undervolting in it. I ran some benches like quadrant and linpack completely without any overclocking and scored 1377 and 35 mflops respectively. I am quite happy with. I am not sure about battery life but I will keep you all posted. Cheers!

I'd love to use these custom kernels, but every time I try....my bluetooth headphone controls don't work. If I keep the stock kernel that is included in a rom, it always works. Newest fresh rom and kernel combo makes my bluetooth controls work. Stock rom and kernel does as well. When I start flashing other kernels, the function is broken. I wish this was addressed and explained somewhere. Maybe I'm missing it.
