Finally a real review

I hope that call quality is better than some reviews are saying it is.

Also, I hope that it can get faster 4g speeds than what is shown in one review. If the 4g speeds aren't any faster, then I might keep my Epic for a while longer to see what other phones they are releasing in the next 3 months.

I'm so tired of crappy 4g speeds. Sprint may have been the first to launch 4g but they certainly don't have the best network or 4g radios on their phones. In fact, it seems like Sprint's 4g is the worst among all carriers. That's highly disappointing. And it's highly disappointing that the Photon 4g will be crippled by Sprint's terrible 4g service.

I was hoping that a better 4g radio would improve 4g speeds, but it sounds like that may be just a dream...
Well here in NYC, I really do not have any problem with Sprint Wimax 4G except when driving when its trying to capture a signal. But walking around and or stationary I get a very good 4G signal. Also at work. Now if i go out to the end of Long Island, there is no 4G signal.

I wouldn't trust a BGR review! Engadget, and Lisa from mobile tech review are usually more accurate all around. However, just hearing that the phone call quality isn't so good is disappointing to hear. But I would wait to hear from the masses the next few days, and then have my own hands on.

Lisa from MobileTechReview is awesome, I love her reviews.

Sprint only had frequency spectrum in the 2.5ghz range for their 4G wimax deployment. That frequency is much more susceptible to interference from structures and causes far more variability in speeds.

This is one of the reasons sprint is planning to shift to LTE, hopefully, using spectrum in the 800 or 850Mhz range (either the light squared spectrum or the SMR spectrum currently used for iden).

As usual, others try to take the credit where it isn't theirs to take.

Haha...yup, TS. No more originality in this world and people are too lazy to really research. It's part of the reason I don't watch ESPN anymore if I don't have to (because of a NBA game or another big sport event).

All of their sportscasters rip off stuff from wherever they can. One of their sportscasters got a 6 month suspension because they opened a segment of Sportscenter with a verbatim rip off from a local L.A. Lakers beat reporter.
