You are in the very small minority where your area only received the initial flawed batch before inventory ran dry. Therefore, all replacements suffered from the same problem. The issues have been addressed. It's becoming more and more rare to get a replacement with those original problems.

There was plenty of hype around the phone prior to its release as evidenced by the fact that it sold out so quickly. There was no reason to push too hard in marketing it further because the big competition was still a little ways off. Enter the Droid X and iPhone 4. There is hype around those as well, so then it is time to lay on the advertising. Keep the Evo hype high and try to steal a little thunder from the other guys. So now you have more demand than you do supply, leaving you with two choices. You let the hype die down (e.g. stop advertising) just because your supply is low and all the would-be customers lose some of their excitement for the Evo and buy something else. Or, you keep them excited about the Evo and convince them to wait it out until they can get their hands on one. If you go with the first option, you lose those customers for good. You don't steal away a customer 1 month after they signed a 2 year contract. Option two gives you a chance to capture them, still.
As for investing in production, it isn't like playing Sim City. You can't just take some money out of your advertising budget and make phones appear. If it were as simple as throwing money at it, don't you think they would have done so already?

Not a big deal at all. You can say anything... But it isn't old. You may have seen the multitude of other HTC commercials and most probably the one for the HTC Aria, which looks like a mini EVO, but this one can't be older than a week or two. It is also the only one I could not find online which is why I recorded and posted it.
don't get me wrong...it's a good commercial. Im all for it rather then seeing an apple everywhere. I just thought that in some places it's barely being aired. I seen this commerical about three weeks ago. But if i affended certain people with that comment then i apology. Not here to make enemies!
Evo and Epic have no competition IMO. No 4G for the others, they are in a class of there own.

Uh, NO it's not being taken care of. I will receive my 4th EVO today from Asurion (brand new phone). My OG EVO had dust under screen and light leakage. My 2nd EVO (Refurb) had screen separation out of the box same with the 3rd. SO No, the issue is still out there. As long as they continue to replace defective EVO's with refurb's, this issue will ALWAYS be out there. BTW, my wife is on her 5th Pre because she keeps getting refurb's. 4 of the Pre's had issues with the volume buttons (they don't work) and the 5th (which I picked up yesterday) has a problem with the internal speaker. Can't hear a phone call unless you select speaker phone![]()
Sounds like you are really hard on your phones and that is why you have so many issues.
