Not new...had to get a new name...been here since I got my g1, (Jan '09).
OK...never heard anyone say anything about posting 'speculation'. But plenty about starting a thread about a subject already done. Why start a thread? Just post the 'Official' release link in that thread about the SAME subject...whatever.

Listen pal...I didn't see your thread! Take it easy, obviously you really care about who drops the news first. Me like a lot of other people, don't! No need to attack anyone my man, get a grip. And yes, if you really do your research, you'll see that VZW OFFICIALLY announced it not to long ago...I saw the posts on Engadget and Android Central this morning, however those were maybe posts. They were updated this afternoon when VZW made it official. Which is when I threw the Thread up...

I have to work tomorrow (Saturday), otherwise would probably there knockin' at the door of my local Verizon Wireless dealer Saturday morning. As it is, won't probably get there 'til Sunday. Am probably going to get this phone, but I do want to play with it a bit in person before making final decision (and also try making a call or two on it, because voice quality is really important to me). I've been rockin' with an original Motorola Droid since Nov. '09 and am ready for an upgrade. Am really looking forward to larger 4.3" screen.

FWIW, Droid-Life is reporting that Verizon has been given the go-ahead to start selling these NOW. You may want to call or stop in your local VZW store on your way home from work and maybe you can get one today...

Nope....not yet! Called the Girl at VZW that I know and she said she has no demos out yet...but that I could go in and buy it...lmaooo $769 retail! What on earth are they smokin up in the VZW main office? A Nexus S is only $549 off contract. So I'll want till tomorrow and give the store demo a try and go from there...

lol yeah i was told that the etf was going to be 650 plus...the guy at my store based it on the fact that the thunderbolt is 600 full retail
But my roommate's father actually has some kind of discount with verizon and my droid charge was only 209 today

Well Well Well.....Miss Carmen with the Super Duper Discount. Good for you girl..No worries though, mine is on the way as of this afternoon. After an hr on the phone with VZW, they gave me the upgrade price of $299! Should have it Tuesday! ; )

$300 is better then $679 any day of the week. Hope its worth the delay VZW had...from what I'm seeing the camera is sick, and I know for sure the screen is beautiful...Miss my Fascinate screen. So I'm pretty excited! Yesssss...Charge Buddies..

As far as the camera goes, the quality is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I went out with friends last night and the camera took excellent pictures
and the front facing camera takes great pictures. Haven't tried videochat.
The battery life is great.
About 1,000 or so text, taking pictures of myself for facebook and browsing the web...I just recently put it on the charger like an hour ago
and as always I have my phone on the highest brightness possible.
My only complaint is the same complaint I had with my HD7, My Droid X and The Evo....While I love 4.3 or higher screens, this phone so does not work with my fashion. had this been Winter, I would not complain but it's Spring/Summer and i'm wearing skirts and dresses and this phone forces me to carry it in my hand or carry a purse lol

Well its good to see your really liking it. I had the Fascinate, the battery was awesome, so I'm looking foward to seeing how the charge performs. The screen as we know is beautiful, and the camera is probably one of the best available. So all good things I'm looking forward too when my charge gets here on Tuesday. I have pretty big hands, so I love the 4.3 phones. And it's easy for me to rock in the back pocket of a pair of jeans or shorts. No skirts here...lmaooo! Anyway yea, start the club up Girlie! I'm in...

When I had called Verizon Friday to see if my store even had a charge the guy had told me he wasn't sure
A)If they could sell it retail
B)and of the retail price. He said the retail price of the Thunderbolt was 600 so he was expecting the retail price of the Charge to be 650-700
But then I saw the price online for 569 as well and I was confused. 569 off cotnract isn't that bad. But given the 300 bucks for 2 year pricing, i expected off contract pricing to be more

They just can't get they're act together with pricing....isn't so crazy how a pure Google phone is $549, and we get jerked for some crazy number$$$...
Oh well, after some nut busting I got VZW to give me an upgrade and I got it for $299 instead of the off contract price, so that's a plus.
I'll be posting a full review when I receive my phone...believe me, it'll be pretty detailed on positives as well as negatives.

Well, I don't have a sexy avatar like sean76 or carmendiva .... but I do (as of Sunday afternoon) have me a shiny new Droid Charge phone .... so far I am quite pleased with it.
Even the Samsung Touchwiz stuff that some people complain about (and which I agree, I could happily live without) is not really that big a problem, I don't think ... as I'll put the apps I actually use on my various home screens and leave the bloatware apps in the app drawer (tho I do think it's dumb that I can't delete 'em entirely).
Big change for me is going from 3.7" screen on my old phone to 4.3" -- it makes it so much easier, IMO, to read email, webpages etc, just having a bit more screen space ... Yeah, size matters .....
So far, everything seems pretty fast and functioning nicely on the phone. I did find it odd that GPS couldn't locate me standing on my front porch but it could locate me standing in my 2nd floor bedroom. And I haven't had the chance to make a bunch of phone calls to get sense of call quality on my end and the other end.
