I am so happy I could burst, I now have my very own Note 2 to match my Note 10.1 but what I still haven't fathomed out is how to insert spaces without using the space bar when using the handrwriting to text option.

Can anyone help?

I'm looking for the same thing......still trying to figure that one out

In some of the videos I saw when people picked up the pen and took a small (1/2 second )pause in writing and then wrote with a space in between words, it registered a space in the recognized text. Not sure if that is how it works.

btw SO jealous of you right now!! congrats

Figured it out by checking the s-pen help section. You have to let it first recognize the word and then you can make a line from left to right to have it recognize the space.....

You are correct and it's documented in the s-pen help section....hopefully you'll be able to get your hands on one soon....

Thanks for the clarification! I appreciate it!

and I'll have one soon (hopefully), pre-ordered from AT&T yesterday, shipping on the 6th, and despite knowing that, I still refresh the "My Orders" page on AT&T.com in the hopes it will ship early :P

Nope, think i'm going to have to have a look at the manual as none of the above has worked for me. It's kind of putting a dampner on my two new toys!

I just use the space key above the handwriting space on the screen. It does work when you slide the s-pen from left to right but I find the space button to be faster.

You can also adjust the time it takes to recognize strokes so that it feels closer to regular writing. I reduced my wait time to 100ms and it just feels more natural to me

Post that don't instruct on how to do something doesn't help others- for those that don't know how to do this

  • Settings
  • Language/input
  • Click gear icon on Samsung keyboard
  • Handwriting
  • Recognition time (default is 300ms)
