Root Finally rooted. (1 question remains)

So I am finally rooted and it feels great. I ended up removing teeter, Friend Stream app and widget, city id, HTC twitter and widget, VVW, and HTC footprints app and widget. Now whenever I boot my phone I have the circular syncing icon (next to the gps icon) on my top menu bar. It will not go away and just remains up there. Is something trying to sync in the background? Any ideas on how to stop it or what process is causing it to sync? I just don't want it there and I don't want it to kill my battery if it's trying to sync something.

Thanks everyone

I am having the same issue, running vanilla unrevolved. Sync will not disappear. Also I am having issues with linking google contacts on the phone to facebook, no facebook contacts show up when I try to link.

Where did you get that ROM? Is that just vanilla 2.1?

yeah it was the unrevolved release from last evening (i believe that was the 2nd release of it)... I am flashing back to the nandroid backup I made of my stock rom with sense now. Played with vanilla enough until more of the bugs get worked out.

Update: It is not allowing my phone to sleep now. Damn. Anyone know how to stop this syncing icon from ruining my battery? Had to be related to one of the HTC apps I removed....

I haven't rooted my phone but people said if you do not sign out of Facebook/Twitter/Flickr/etc before removing the programs the phone would get stuck in a sync loop...

Can you still sign out of those applications now??

Here is an easy way to fix this. I had the same issue and it literally took me all day to figure out how to get rid of the stupid sync icon. First go into settings/account sync/ and remove the facebook account. Next, while in settings go to applications/manage applications/ find both facebook apps and uninstall or clear cache. Next open your Peoples icon. Select the icon on the bottom that looks like the world. It will open up a new window. Choose facebook. It should pull up all your friends. Hit the menu button and choose refresh. Next go back into your Settings/Account Sync/Add new account/ facebook and enter your info. Then sync just your Gmail account. Wait until that finishes. Once that is done, then sync your facebook. This should get rid of that sync notification. The important part is the unistall and clear cache part. Let us know if it works.

Whenever I go to Settings, Accounts and Sync I get a force close message and am not able to access anything.....

What tool? Where?

Script somewhere on the forums. I couldn't find it again, but people who used it had no more success than without. I am pretty sure it just runs your command prompt commands, In case you cant figure out adb shell and loop.bat. I may be wrong though, never tried it out.

i have no idea why people remove those useful apps (execpt Shitty ID). o well.

What exactly is "useful" about Twitter/Friend Stream apps? Maybe some people don't use that social network garbage and don't want it taking up space on their phones.
