Root Finally rooted but have a question...

So I rooted my phone via htc dev, flashed the TWRP recovery and flashed Juno's odexed rom and I'm wondering what is it that could still be causing the signal fluctuations? Would I still be able to flash another rom even though I'm on s-on? This signal issue is just plain ******ed.

The s-off seems like a hassle though lol I will look into to doing it later. Is there anyway to get my phones signal better with just the stock odex rom? I honestly have no need to use another rom cause I like being able to shoot 3d pics. That's the only thing keeping me from flashing another rom.

There is nothing you can do about signal.

Most roms still have all the functionality of the stock roms(including 3d and 4g). Staying on stock is insane in my opinion. Custom roms only improve every aspect of the stock rom.

Try Harmonia, midnightrom, and mobster rom. All of those are 100% functional.

S-off is very very well worth it. You can only fix the signal fluctuations with s-off. (See the fix everything sticky) Also s-off makes it easy to flash kernels without fastboot.

While s-off sounds scary it's really not bad at all, you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

They take 3d pics as well as 3d video? Plus which one is good for gaming? I mostly game, take pics and browse the Web. Also a good one for battery life. I know I'm asking a lot and could check the other threads but I'm a little busy at work training for my promotion as assistant manager :-)

Yes. They are 100% functional, just like stock. Midnight rom is overclocked and allows for you to mess with the governor and cpu settings(due to anthrax kernel). Harmonia is like stock but clean, fast, and reliable. Mobster rom is mostly senseless and is fast and smooth. For gaming any rom will be an improvement over stock. Midnight rom probably has the edge due to overclocking. I currently use midnightrom, but I also think the others are great.

congrats on the promotion!

Ok last two questions (hopefully). Upon performing the s-off does it completely wipe my phone? I'm asking because then I could backup my apps beforehand. And would it be wise to back up the app and data? I don't feel like redoing games and my info in apps. Lol thanks

Do a complete nandroid back up before you do the S off. because once you try to boot back into recovery it will require that you do a complete wipe of your phone. So after you wipe your phone you just restore the backup you made and your phone will be just like it was before you did the s off procedure

You should use titanium backup to backup all of your apps and data. because once you flashing your rom everything will be lost and the back up makes it easy to restore everything

I've been using Go Backup which is actually pretty good and free. I'll just back up my apps as well as a nandroid backup. I may tackle this tomorrow since that's my day off. Thanks a lot peeps.

When changing recoveries, make a Nandroid backup before you change recoveries and another Nandroid backup after.

For anything else, always make a Nandroid and a normal backup (Titanium or Mybackup) before doing anything serious on your phone. I say both just in case one fails.

It's a good idea to copy these off your SDCard before you actually do whatever you plan to do as well.

What recovery do you recommend?

Sorry Boomer, I only have access to the phone on occasion (I don't own it, only maintain it) so I'm not an authority on this.

TWRP 1 and TWRP 2 backups are not interchangeable.
I advise to always make a backup before and after changing recoveries for that very reason.

Also, before going through with the s-off procedure with Juopunutbear, you might want to swap out your SD card. If you time the wire trick wrong, you can wipe out all of your data on the SD card, including backups.
