Root Finally rooted! (few questions)

Thank you Dan, and the rest of you guys for your help via guides etc. :P

After I rooted, S-off'd etc I created a nandroid, and decided to flash CM7. After a few boot loop problems, SD card problems, and FC problems, I am now successfully running CyanogenMod 7.1.0.

(I do miss a few sense widgets, but was tired of the problems with compatibility etc)

So thank you all!

Quick question though, I partitioned 1 GB of space on my SD card to EXT4, I was wondering about how to use it for apps etc. (I dont need it now, the apps to sd in gingerbread is quite awesome)

Also suggestions for roms would be appreciated. :P

Edit: I have S-off'd with Alpharev too (Alpharev/CWM recovery)
 
You just need to flash the a2sd script from cm thread, or choose one of their other options also mentioned in the cm thread.

Is your card class 4 or 6?

Hi SU,

I have been planning to root (mainly for lack of memory) and use a2sd+.
Wanted to check if Class 4 SD card (Sandisk/Transcend) is good enough for a2sd+ or should I get class6 or class 10? I had read that people were suggesting for class6. But I am not able to find class 6 cards here (India) All the places sell only class 4.
So my rooting is still on hold :(
(I do remember you had mentioned somewhere that desire can only operate upto Class6)

I never saw much if any difference when I went from a 4 to a 6 using an A2SD+ rom. I was also going from an 8gb card to a 16gb card otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.

Also, don't bother with a class 10 as apparently the Desire can only use the speed of a 6 so it would act the same as a 6.
 
I've seen a h2testw.exe test of a desire on xda at class 10 speeds. I made him run it as I didn't believe him. Can't prove he used the desire though

I wish I'd known this a couple of days ago because I could have saved a bit of money. I was using a 32GB class 2 card which to be honest was tolerable if slightly laggy (read/write 7.8/3.8), but just bought a 32GB class 10 (read 9/write 9) which doesn't seem to have made much of a difference

class it as an investment for future devices
 
I'm using RMCIX Bravo v.20. It has HTC Sense 3.0 and 2.3.5. Works very well. I'm a fan of HTC Sense. Pretty stable so far. Have done this for PVT3 (Clockworkmod 2.5.0.7) and PVT4 (Amon_RA 2.0) both S-On. Try it if you miss Sense widgets. The ROM has ADSD+. I've downloaded at least 30 apps and memory is still holding up :-).
