Root finally rooted, now how do i customize?

so besides the wireless tethering and the quicker performance and better battery life i rooted with the hope that i would be able to customize alot more things. the battery color, the lock screen, the font. things like that. how can i accomplish these things or anything like them?

oh and any suggestions on what the best rom is right now?

Rooting also helps you get rid of more secure pre-loaded apps, such as Nascar, TV, etc., with Titanium Backup. You can also take pictures of your screen with the Shootme app. As for battery colors and whatnot, I think you'd have to flash different ROMs or download different themes to get that to change.

I can only use Baked Snack right now because for some reason my phone is dumb and won't flash anything else. It's a fantastic ROM because it's super snappy and fast, but Damage Control, Fresh and Cyanogen Mod 6 are other popular ROMs.
