Finding Sound Bytes

justk3n

Lurker
Hello,

I just downloaded an app that has funny sounds, and I am trying to figure out where those sounds are saved, so I can use them for my text alert, ring tone, etc...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

KT

Welcome to Android Forums, justk3n! :)

That's up to the developer. There's no standard location. They may not even be individual files. Which app are you talking about?

Apps like: "Scary Sounds", "Funny Sounds", and so on...

Oh, I thought there would be some sort of default folder for apps and their files.

Sadly not. I have trawled my memory using "Root Explorer" (on my Rooted Note 3), looking for a sound to use as a notification that was in an app, I couldn't find it. However all was not lost I recorded it using another phone, converted it to an .ogg file (There is an on line converter that will do it for free) and used it. While the quality wasn't as good it was at least usable.
