Fire Hardware Specs

I don't have a tablet, and was never really planning on getting one, but my parents have hinted that I may be getting a Kindle Fire since they enjoy theirs so much.

I was just curious what the hardware was capable of.

I know it has 8gb of memory (and no way to expand that), a dual-core 1ghz TI OMAP 4 processor and 512mb of RAM.

The main question I have is, how does the TI OMAP 4 compare to other chipsets such as the Tegra 2.

The TI OMAP 4 is better than the Tegra 2 when it comes to graphic performance and video playback.

The processor is one area where the Kindle Fire did not skimp on and is on par with top of the line Android tablets.

The 512MB Ram could be a bigger limiting factor if you decide to root the device and install ICS.

Muffin knight
Need for Speed (either one)

...And any other games you find noteworthy...
