Firefox Beta for Android!

Wow. Garbage. Huge download (for a phone) and eats up a ton of memory (not a big deal but still). Not to mention I simply don't like it. Uninstall and sticking with Dolphin HD.

From all the early beta testers I've heard from, it's not looking too good for Firefox's mobile browser. I'll wait til the official one comes out.

Man. Everyone likes Dolphin so much.

Unreasonably large UI elements, crowded features - gestures, swipe from the left for bookmarks, swipe from the right for plugins - plus it's the slowest browser out there by a wide margin (well, excluding FF alpha, but come on now).

Different strokes, I guess. It's a phone. I like my browser lightweight, clean and fast.

I have a 3 browser rotation going and dolphin isn't one of them.

Opera for quick speed reading on the go, Skyfire for videos and default browser for everything else.

I agree, dolphin is just too cluttered to be usable.

Well I've tried to use Dolphin... tried to like it... and just don't. So as a big Firefox fan I'll be checking this out. Definitely interested, and not expecting perfection in a "beta". As someone who's followed and used Firefox since all the way back to the first "Phoenix" release, I know how the process works. ;)

Unfortunately I left my USB cable at home so I can't sideload... urgh.

I can't say that I think its perfect at this point, but I am going to keep it for now. Firefox likes to fix their mistakes quickly to keep people happy so I could see this turning into a great browser.

I'm well aware of Dolphin's shortcomings, but Firefox is THAT bad and it certainly isn't lightweight. It sucks because I use Firefox exclusively on my PC and would love to be able to sync it up. Dolphin is good enough that I can wait for a better release.

Not sure on what folks are talking about. Dolphin HD seems very similar to Firefox on a computer. Works fine. Firefox for Android is bloated and even still seems too problematic for a "beta" status. Seems still alpha-level to me.

There are a number of quick install methods and just curious why you'd need a usb cable for this:
* Chrome to Phone on phone & Fox to Phone firefox plugin on pc (right click to send the link to your phone - opens in default browser)
* Use barcode scanner to grab the qr code from that link
* Old school - just go to https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/mobile/beta/ in your phone's browser
* Shorten Url firefox plugin on pc to generate a short url to more quickly type on your phone

Not knocking you, just curious is all.
