Help Firmware Downgrade for Galaxy SII

VladUK

Newbie
Hello all,

I'm wondering is it possible to downgrade firmware from ICS 4.0.3 to Gingerbread 2.3.4 using Kies?

Since I have updated my Galaxy SII ( sim free version ) to ICS 4.0.3 I noticed that whenever I charge the battery, unit is getting hot ( on the left side back of the phone ) and also battery drains much faster then before ( which never happend while it was on Gingerbread 2,3,4 ) also I found that screen is not responcive as it was! Sometimes take couple times to understand that I am pressing certain menu or icon on screen, strange but it's true! As well as more RAM is being used now with ICS than with the Gingerbread.

Also in the Setting Menu I noticed that some of the informations are not visible as they used to be, there so dark gray now I need extra effort to see them!

Any advice or help will be appreciated :)
Thank you!

Welcome to the forum VladUK and thanks for joining.

You can't downgrade using kies. The only ways to do that are to either go to a Samsung service centre and have them do it or flash manually with Odin.

Honestly I'm not sure as I've never needed to before. I would think they would do it for free if you upgraded via kies and your phones still under warranty.

Hi KateCZ,
The only solution I got from Shotgun84 was to go and visit Samsung Sevice Centre or to flash it by using Odin ( since I am not that brave to do by my self I decided to go to Samsung Service Centre ) but because of work I wasn't able to visit them this week in order to downgrade from ICS to Gingerbread.
I hope I will be able to do that next week and I will let you know.
Regards
Vlad
