Hi, i have a samsung galaxy s2 on orange.
It says i have KE2 but i hear there is a KE7 update.

When i connect my phone to kies, it says i have the latest firmware.

Is there anything i can do to update it? I dont particularly want to void the warranty or root it :s

Thanks :)

You'll be waiting forever if you dont use ODIN. The thing about Kies is that it checks your product code etc.. Say your with Vodafone UK and your on KE2..

Samsung release KE7 (majority of us download it and use it) though you plug your phone in and says there is no update. Why? Bec the network operators are now going to spend months ruining it with their crap bloatware/branding etc before they release it to you.

By the time they release KE7, we're 2-3 stages ahead of you.... again.

Just root. Its super simple and is not going to do anything thats negative.

I rooted with Chainfires method which was the origional stock kernel but with root access and super user access on KE2. If I want to upgrade firmware now what do i re-root with?
