Today I plugged my phone into the computer and Kies notified me of new firmware: PDA:KF3 PHONE:KE7 CSC:KF1 (whatever this means). I selected to make a backup with Kies and proceed with the firmware update.
When the update was completed and the phone rebooted I got this notification: "Delete limit exceeded: there are XXX items for the account - what would you like to do ... 1) Delete the items 2) Undo the delete or 3) do nothing for now". I wasn't sure what to do so I selected number 3. After that I noticed that my Google Calendar showed no events either on the phone or on desktop. Events older than one month showed on my desktop though as well as those with pending RSVP.
My guess is this: the calendar data on the phone was deleted during the update and after that the phone started syncing the calendar but instead of fetching the events from Google deleted them. As the calendar sync only works 30 days into the past that would explain why older events were not deleted and are visible on my desktop.
Is there any way to get these calendar entries back? Has anyone experienced something like this? I rely completely on Google Calendar and managing my life is going to be very difficult if every calendar entry is lost...
